This Privacy Policy explains how PayMyBillz Pty Ltd collects, uses, stores, and discloses your personal information. We are bound by the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

We collect personal information that is necessary to provide the PayMyBillz service and meet our legal obligations. This includes:

We collect this information directly from you when you register, add billers, or make payments. We also receive information from our payment partner Zai Australia and our identity verification provider in connection with your use of the service.

05Identity Verification and Screening

As part of our AML/CTF obligations, we are required to verify your identity before you can use the payment features of our platform. Verification is performed electronically through a third-party provider connected to the Australian Government Document Verification Service (DVS). Your name, date of birth, and document number are checked against official government records.

We also screen your details against sanctions lists (including the DFAT Consolidated List and UN Security Council list) and PEP databases at onboarding and on an ongoing basis. A potential match will be reviewed by our compliance team. We may restrict your account if a match is confirmed.

These checks are required by law and are not optional. If you do not consent to identity verification and screening, we are unable to provide payment services to you.

06Cookies and Tracking

Our website uses essential cookies necessary to operate the service (for example, to maintain your logged-in session). We may also use analytics tools to understand how the platform is used in aggregate. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though this may affect certain functionality of the platform.

07Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on servers located in Australia. We apply industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and multi-factor authentication for platform administrators.

While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no internet-based service can guarantee complete security. You should notify us immediately at support@paymybillz.com.au if you suspect your account has been compromised.

08Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active and for a minimum of seven years after your account is closed, as required by the AML/CTF Act. Transaction records are retained for seven years from the date of each transaction. We will securely delete or de-identify information that is no longer required.

09Your Rights
